Ireland’s Best Known Songwriter to Headline at Terryglass Arts Festival

One of Ireland‘s foremost songwriters Jimmy MacCarthy has been announced as the headline act for this year’s Terryglass Arts Festival which runs from Wednesday 13th – Sunday 17th August.

MacCarthy will bring his sell-out “Prophecy/ Conspiracy?” tour to Terryglass Church on Friday 15th August in what promises to be a magical and unforgettable evening of musical treats.

Having worked with major Irish Artists such as Christy Moore, Mary Black, Mary Coughlan and Maura O’Connell and released four albums of his own, Jimmy’s Prophecy/Conspiracy? tour pays homage to old favourites such as ’Neidin’, while introducing more recent work such as ‘Andalucian Gray’, ‘Children of Mile’, and ‘Prophecy / Conspiracy?’

Announcing the concert, Festival Chairperson Andrea Egan said, “We are delighted to have secured Jimmy MacCarthy as this year’s headline act in Terryglass Church. Jimmy has a universal appeal to all ages and backgrounds and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening of music and song.”

Jimmy MacCarthy“Jimmy has written most well known songs in the Irish contemporary repertoire including ’No Frontiers’, ‘Missing you’, ‘Ride On’ ,‘Katie’, ‘The Bright Blue Rose’, ‘The Contender’ and ’Mystic Lipstick’.  It is a real coup for the Terryglass Arts Festival to have secured an artist of Jimmy’s calibre and we know there will be a huge demand for tickets,” she concluded.
