1916 – Dublin Commemoration for Tipperary Hero

A memorial plaque is going to be unveiled in honour of Phil Shanahan TD, the Hollyford patriot who served in the First and Second Dail.

The Commemoration is being held in Dublin, on Easter Monday.   The programme will commence 12 Noon at Liberty Hall. The attendance will march to Foley St via Talbot St with a brief stop at the Sean Treacy Plaque. At Foley St, the site where Phil Shanahan’s Pub offered shelter and hospitality who many a hero of the War of Independence, the new Phil Shanahan plaque will be unveiled. A wreath will also be laid and an oration will be given by Senator Labhrás Ó Murchú.  All welcome.
