North Tipp Macra Notes
On Saturday 1st February North Tipp Macra embarked on a Mystery Tour. The tour consisted of a number of activities including a trip to Lough Key Activity Park in county Roscommon as well as Bowling and a pub crawl. It was a fantastic day out and well done to everyone who attended. This event was organised tremendously well by Margaret Stanley (Devilsbit) and we are all extremely grateful to her.
The county Executive meeting was held in Borrisleigh on Thursday 13th February. Considering how bad the weather was, there was a decent turn out. A number of upcoming events and competitions were discussed.
On Saturday night next Margaret Stanley (Social Officer) is organising a social night in Nenagh for all clubs. Please her know if you can attend. On Friday 28th, Bobby Reidy will host the county round of the personality competitions. Contestants for events such as Queen of the Land, Ms Macra, Ms Blue Jeans and Mr Personality will be chosen to represent North Tipperary in the coming year. This will be a great night and we encourage all members to attend and compete.
The month of March will also be a very busy time for North Tipp Macra. The first round of the National Talent Competition will be held in South Tipp on March 7th and on March 9th all clubs will compete in Basketball. Volleyball is fixed for March 21st in Moyne. Please keep in touch with your club Chairs and Secretaries regarding any potential changes to these dates.
The post of National Council Representative (NCR) for North Tipp Macra will become available soon as Nenagh Macra’s John Joyce steps down after a very successful two year team. We wish to thank John for all his hard work. At the meeting in Borrisleigh, not one but two of our members stated their intention to run for the post. Tim Maher of Devilsbit Macra will go head to head with Nenagh Macra’s Una Ryan and we wish them both the very best of luck.
