Step it Out with Templemore College Transformers!

Operation Transformation templemore collegeThe Sports and Recreation students at Templemore College (formerly St. Sheelan’s College) have organised a walking initiative with the aim of encouraging the staff & students of the college to engage in regular physical activity.

This concept is inspired by RTE’s ‘Operation Transformation’. Irish adults are recommended to take part in at least 30 minutes of physical activity everyday and can enjoy physical, mental and social benefits through participation. All members of the community are very welcome to join the walking group. The walking group departs from the front entrance of the college Monday – Friday at 1.05pm. Participants will enjoy a 30 minute walk on routes such as The Town Park, The Abbey and Slí na Sláinte routes around the town of Templemore. The walk leaders are the Sports and Recreation students from Templemore College, they are easily identifiable in their hi visibility walking gear! The leaders recommend that you wear comfortable footwear and would love to see you join them in their daily walks.

Step it out with the ‘TCFE Transformers’ and enjoy 30 minutes of physical activity, fresh air and good company!

This course is now running in the college for its first year. It has proven to be a very popular choice for students and is a varied and interesting programme.
