Bord Bia, SuperValu and the County Enterprise Boards have joined forces on a new initiative to provide a consistent level of food marketing knowledge to new and early-stage food business owners. For the first time, food business start ups regardless of their location will have access to a standardized programme of supports throughout the country. The programme, which will be delivered through workshop style training, and supported by SuperValu in the context of retail expertise and providing a route to market, is designed to guide companies from start-up to their first retail listing.
The Food Academy Start programme is primarily targeted at start-up food businesses and current County Enterprise Board clients.
The programme will run over 6 weeks, dates and workshop modules are detailed below and it is proposed that they will commence at 9.00am and finish at 1.00pm.
Module 1 Jan 27: Market Background
Module 2 Feb 14: Understanding the consumer
Module 3 Feb 20: Finance and Pricing
Module 4 Mar 5: New Product Development
Module 5 Mar 19: Growing Sales
Module 6 Apr 2: Branding and Packaging Design
Participants will also receive 2 x two hour one to one confidential mentoring sessions. The cost of participating on the programme will be €50.00 per business. Places will be allocated strictly on a first come first served basis.
