Lorrha Dorrha Community Energy Information Night Tues 23rd July

Just 400 homes spend €1 million on Home Energy per year!!

Reduce 25% through community insulation scheme – save €250,000 per year!!

North Tipperary LEADER Partnership (NTLP) are seeking interest from the Lorrha/Dorrha area in replicating the immensely successful community energy scheme of Drombane/Upperchurch. An information evening is being held on Tuesday 23rd July at 8.00pm in Lorrha Hall.

Many lessons have been learnt from the Drombane/Upperchurch scheme, which started out with a group of local enthusiasts who wanted to create economic development in their community. In  2012, the group carried out a community retrofit on 22 homes in 2012, and will upgrade a further 35 homes this year, including two community halls. This work is securing investment of almost €500,000 in the community, creating work for local contractors, and funding further community energy initiatives.
