Survivors at Relay for Life Tipperary

Relay for Life Tipperary 2013 gaining momentum with lots of activities planned in advance of the event itself in Toomevara on the 24/25 August.  Teams are registering throughout the county so look out of events related to Relay in your local area.  Two-thirds of the funding raised is spent directly on cancer services in the Co Tipperary, and the remainder is spent on research.

Next week, a social evening is being organised in The Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon on Thursday next week, 13 June at 8pm for cancer survivors from all over the county, and everyone who has ever had cancer is invited to come along and bring a friend to what

Survivors are VIPs at Relay for Life Tipperary in Toomevara

should be a very enjoyable event.  Refreshments will be provided by Tony Donlon of the Thatched Cottage, music by Pa White (all voluntary) and there will be a free draw for all survivors.  If you would like to come to this event, or if you would like to find out more about it or about survivors at Relay for Life, please contact Noreen Kennedy (purely for catering numbers) atnoreenkennedynenagh@gmail.com or phone 087 9584274

One of the main purposes of Relay for Life is to spread the message that there is hope after cancer, so cancer survivors are the VIPs of Relay and play a central role in the whole event.  Every survivor is an inspiration to those who are recently diagnosed and those that are still in treatment as well as to their loved ones who worry with them that there can be life after cancer.

For the past two years, about 100 survivors took part in Relay in Toomevara and we hope that there will be even more survivors taking part this year.  So, why not come along to the Thatch next   You will be very very welcome.
