Summer Youth Project at The Source Arts Centre Thurles
A unique opportunity to work with some of the best community arts workers in the country
The Source Youth Arts Project presented in conjunction with Tipperary Regional Youth Service
Have you heard of Aladdin and his Magic Lamp, The Voyages of Sinbad, Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves? Of course you have! These stories from the Arabian Nights are told for 1001 Nights by a young woman called Sheherazade in a bid to stop her head being cut off by a jealous king!
Building on the success of The Source’s eight previous Summer Youth Programmes, we are back again with another exciting project bringing together young people from Thurles and the surrounding area. Working with professional theatre makers, writers and designers, you will build a working theatre set, get involved in costume design and lighting to create a live contemporary performance event for family and friends based on these fabulously magical stories.
