New look, new season at The Source Arts Centre!
The Autumn Season is in full swing at The Source Arts Centre with lots of positive feedback about the range of top quality acts that will be paying a visit over the coming months. There are some old favourites and plenty new to suit all tastes and pockets. Here is just a sample of what’s to come.
Two unique community events on take place on Friday 21 September, Culture Night – a marathon community reading of Joyce’s Ulysses in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital and Sowing the Seeds of Dance, a community dance project culminates in a ‘show & tell’ performance at 7pm. Fantastic events from the rest of the new season include; Guerrilla Days in Ireland: the story of Tom Barry, ‘Beg, borrow, steal a ticket but get to see it.’ The Irish Examiner, The Speech Project: a multi-media musical extravaganza that incorporates the recordings of the spoken word of Irish musicians including Shane MacGowan, Christy Moore, Damien Dempsey and many more. Graffiti Classics: a children’s music show that will change perceptions of classical music forever. Julie Feeney: an extraordinary collaboration with Cashel Community School Choir. The House that Jack Filled: A new children’s show from makers of The Girl Who Forgot to Sing Badly. Catch Me: a rare aerial circus show for the whole family to enjoy, the Irish answer to Cirque Du Soleil, in conjunction with Thurles Halloween Festival Scullion: legends of Irish folk music return for a rare national tour after 20 years off the road.
