Tipperary well Represented at Community Games Finals 2012
The last weekend of the 2012 Community Games finals took place over the weekend in Athlone IT in glories sunshine. Tipperary were will represented all through the field. In the girls 60m Ellen o’shaughessy Ballina took Silver , U/12 ball throw Laura Shinners Cloughjordan Gold, girls 80 metres hurdles Sharlene Mawdsley Newport Silver, Boys 80m hurdles Daniel Ryan moycarkey Gold, 800m Aoibhe o’ Shea Ballingarry Gold, u/16 100m Phoebe Murphy St.Marys bronzes, U/16 Discus Ciara Mockler Moycarkey pewter medal, U/16 Javelin Mairead Teehan St.Flannans pewter medal, In the U/16 boys marathon we had a team of four and all ran a fantastic race Darren Duane Cloughjordan 3rd ,Killian Cullagh Silvermines 4th, Anthony Tobin,Aaron Egan st peter & pauls were the other two members of the team and took team silver. Nenagh U/14 camogie took silver they were defeated by Athenry galway 4-3 – 3-3 after extra time.
