All Ireland Senior Football Championship 

 

Commiserations to the Tipperary Senior footballers and management team on their defeat by 1-13 to 0-11 to Down in last Saturday’s All Ireland senior football championship qualifier Round 4 game at Mullingar. While it was very disappointing to lose, the players, management and backroom team can be very proud of their performance in this year’s championship. They represented the county with pride, determination and plenty of skill. The future is worth looking forward to and hopefully further progress will be made in 2013.

 

Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship

 

Congratulations to theTipperaryintermediate hurlers and management on their 1-18 to 0-17 victory over Clare in the Munster Intermediate hurling championship final played at Nenagh last weekend. The team was captained by Eddie Connolly of Loughmore Castleiney. It wasTipperary’s first title at this grade since 2002. Their next game will be the All Ireland final against Kilkenny orGalwayon September 1.

 

 

Bord Gais Energy Munster Under 21 Hurling Final

 

We wish the under 21 hurlers and management the very best of luck for theMunsterfinal against Clare inCusackPark, Ennis on Wednesday, August 8 at7.15pm. The game will be refereed by John Sexton ofCork. Given the expected large attendance   this match will be all ticket and seating will not be reserved. Please note that Juveniles will require a ticket. Supporters are strongly advised to purchase their tickets in advance as we cannot guarantee that there will be tickets for sale on the night due to the demand. Clubs should immediately contact their members and request orders which they will then forward to their divisional ticket co-ordinator in the same way as for allMunsterfixtures. The limited stand and sideline seats will not be reserved as they are on a first come first served basis. We urge allTipperarysupporters to book their tickets early and avoid being disappointed. Remember tickets are limited and it’s important we are not outnumbered on the night. Ticket prices as follows:- Adult €15

Student/OAP €10; Juvenile €2; Student/OAP – Concession on the night on full price tickets only – pay full price and get a refund of €5 at specified Stiles on the day (on production of valid I.D.)

 

 

Electric Ireland All Ireland Minor Football Championship

 

Good luck to theTipperaryminor footballers and management for their Electric Ireland All Ireland Minor Football Championship quarter-final against Mayo on Saturday next atCrokeParkat3pm. The game will be followed at5pmby the All Ireland senior football quarter-final between Down and Mayo and at7pmby the quarter-final betweenDublinand Laois.Tipperaryand Mayo have met 4 times in the minor football championship with 2 wins each.Tipperarywon the 1934 and 1955 semi-finals and Mayo won the 1935 final and the 2009 quarter-final. Ticket prices for Saturday are: Stand – €30, Terrace – €20, Juvenile Stand – €5 (juvenile must be accompanied by adult). Senior Citizens and Student Stand – €20 (Cusack & Davin Stands only, concession refunds from Block D turnstiles to rear of Cusack Stand prior to entry). No refunds available after entry to stadium. Club have been notified of group pass options.

 

 

Tickets For All Ireland Hurling Semi-Finals

 

Tipperary’s opponents in the All Ireland hurling semi-final at CrokeParkon Sunday August 19 at 3.30pmwill be Kilkenny following their 4-16 to 1-16 victory over a gallant Limerickteam at Semple Stadium on Sunday. The senior game will be preceded by the minor semi-final between Tipperaryand Galwayat 1.30pm. Galwayhad a very impressive 4-20 to 2-11 victory over Wexford in the quarter final at O’Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday. Tickets are now on sale through clubs, online at www.tickets.ie and at selected Centra and SuperValu outlets. Prices are as follows:

Stand €40; Terrace €25; Juvenile €5 (must be accompanied by an adult); Senior citizens and students €25 for Cusack and Davin Stands only with concession refunds from Block D turnstiles to rear of Cusack Stand.

 

 

Divisional Titles For Thurles Sarsfields And Mullinahone

 

Following Portroe securing their first ever divisional senior hurling title in North Tipperary last Sunday week, the Mid and South senior hurling titles went to more regular homes last weekend with victories for Thurles Sarsfields and Mullinahone. Sarsfields, thanks to an amazing feast of goal scoring from placed balls and general play by Pa Bourke, defeated a stunned Loughmore Castleiney by 7-16 to 2-13 at Templemore. In the South Eoin Kelly scored 1-11 as Mullinahone defeated Carrick Swan by 1-17 to 2-9 at Clonmel Sportsfield. Well done to the officers of both divisional boards on the excellent arrangements in place for both finals.

A Chance To Visit Ballydoyle

 

Excellence in any sport is to be admired greatly and Ballydoyle, where Aidan O’Brien trains his team of highly successful racehorses, is world renowned. Rosegreen GAA Club in association with Ballydoyle Racing are offering patrons of the Rosegreen Field Day on Sunday August 5 the opportunity to visit the famous stables at Ballydoyle. The field day will commence at1.30pmin Rosegreen. A shuttle bus will operate throughout the day taking patrons on a guided tour of Ballydoyle.  A monster auction will also take place in the Community Field and other attractions include sports for young and old, wheel of fortune, Dog show, Bottle Stall, Bric-A-Brac and Under 8’s hurling blitz. The day will conclude with the Queen of the Green Dance from10pmto2am.
