Long regarded as one of Ireland’s finest singers, Coughlan’s versions of jazz standards and traditional favourites has made her a strong live draw.

With her smoky sultry voice, she received national recognition in the mid 1980’s following a famous appearance on The Late Late Show. She sold over 100,000 copies of her first album ‘Tired and Emotional’ and continued to develop a strong following, with albums such as ‘Under the Influence’, ‘Ancient Rain’ and ‘Uncertain Pleasures’, through the ‘90’s.

Coughlan recently released ‘The House of Ill Repute’, regarded by critics as one of her best albums. Described by the UK Guardian Newspaper as ‘impressive’, they noted; ‘Coughlan is an impassioned performer who expresses herself best through the words and tunes of others’.The album re-unites her with Erik Visser, whose previous work with Mary has inspired them both to career best performances on ‘Tired And Emotional’ and ‘After The Fall’.

Local performer Laura Kearney who recently released her album ‘Sapphire’, will support on the night at approximately 8.30 p.m. Doors are open for the concert at 8 p.m. and Mary Coughlan comes on stage at 9 p.m.

Tickets at €20 and are available for this intimate performance at the Arts Centre in the old Town Hall in Banba Square on 067 34400 or online on
