Marketing Institute South East Announce Free ‘Avatars & APPs’ Event

The Marketing Institute of Ireland and WIT School of Business have
announced an ‘Avatars and APPs’ event which will demonstrate marketing in a
digital world. The event hosted by the South East branch of the institute
will be held in the Auditorium at the main campus of WIT on Thursday, April
19 at 4pm and is free to attend.

Experts in their industry Conor Ryan co-founder of Betapond and Ray
Mulligan CEO of Inspired Social Gaming will share their expertise on how to
use Applications and Avatars for successful online digital marketing

Conor is co-founder and COO at Betapond. Betapond is a VC funded Facebook
Preferred Developer Consultant that develops Facebook marketing solutions
for global brands that include Heinz, M&S,, Paddy Power, Nokia,
Avis and many more. Conor has spent the vast majority of his career working
on software based Internet start-up companies.

Betapond was founded in 2009 with offices in Waterford, Dublin, London and
California. It develops social media solutions primarily for Facebook which
are used in the retail, entertainment and tourism sectors. Betapond is one
of only 90 Facebook preferred developer consultants globally, meaning
Facebook believes it has “demonstrated the ability to understand the social
mechanics and technical possibilities of Facebook apps” and has experience
building numerous Facebook integrations. It is currently the only Facebook
preferred developer consultant in Ireland.

Raymond Mulligan is founder and CEO of Inspired Social Gaming who operate
Greedy Bastards, a virtual worlds’ based social gaming business. Founded
in early 2011, the Greedy Bastards brand launched in virtual worlds such as
Second Life, Avination and OpenSim and enjoys healthy revenue growth, and
has become a market leader within the virtual world communities.

With a background far removed from virtual worlds and social gaming,
Raymond has brought something unique to virtual world gaming i.e. a service
level that you would expect from his 5 star hotels background in marketing
and operations management. He says “it’s difficult to describe and easier

Commenting on the upcoming event Chairman of the Marketing Institute South
