Brewery Lane Theatre’s production of “Tons of Money” will have you in stitches…

There are no lengths to which some people will not go to acquire money…the Revenue Commissioners will pursue the old age pensioners….the Banks will foreclose on your property….but the characters portrayed in this play, ‘Tons of Money’ has a unique way of laying their hands on the filthy lucre! Adapted by Alan Ayckbourn from a 1920s farce, Tons of Money tells the story of a couple – Aubrey Henery Maitland Allington and his wife, Louise played by Colm Power and Vivienne Coughlan who have fallen on hard economic times. While the couple has run out of money, they continue to live as if they are rich floating around their country mansion with servants, but they can’t play that game forever. So the Allington’s hatch an ingenious scheme to pay off their debtors, including faking death!….of course, nothing goes according to plan, complications with spouses & impostors arise forcing them to take drastic steps, chaos and confusion ensues…..Directed by Tom Nealon, this hilarious production will be staged for 8 nights from Saturday March 24th to Saturday March 31st, 2012. Adm. €15.Curtains 8.15pm.
