Fundraiser For Orphaned Children In The Templemore Arms.
A fundraiser for The Orphaned Children of Azerbaijan takes place this Friday March 2nd in The
Kevin Kelly in an Azerbaijan orphanage, visiting the children
Templemore Arms Hotel.
It has been organised by Kevin Kelly, Loughmore, and musician Joe Brennan. Kevin and Joe have both been involved with the charity for over 10 years.
They work relentlessly to bring in funds to better the lives of the orphans and upgrade the buildings they live in. The money also goes to help train care workers who help the children, some of whom are very disabled. Kevin works all year at a car boot sale in Fethard, 9am to 2 pm every Sunday, and every cent made goes in to the pot. Incredible dedication!
The lads are due to travel to Baku, visit the children and play music for The Irish society ball on March 10th. The Irish society are the ones who distribute the funds between the different orphanages in Baku and started the project 12 years ago. The musicians on the trip over this year are, Joe Brennan ( guitar and vocals), Kevin Kelly (bodhran), Ricky Martin, Guitar and vocals) , The members of Acoustra, Pat Wright (Accordion), Liam McCarthy, (Banjo, Mandolin), Dylan Shine, (Bass, Vocals) and Brian Bermingham (drums, Percussion).
The fundraiser in The Templemore Arms is the last one before the lads head away so they are hoping for a massive turnout.
It promises to be a great night with music supplied by The Brendan Lee Country Band. The band promise to have the crowd swinging for the whole night! There will also be a raffle with spot prizes galore, finger food, all for only €10 entrance fee…
