Benny Dunne announces his retirement from inter-county hurling
Having had the great honour of being a member of the Tipperary Senior hurling panel for 10 years, I have decided to call time on my inter-county hurling career. It was a huge privilege for me at all times to represent Tipperary and I have many great memories to treasure. I am grateful to all the players, management and backroom staff who have given me such support over the years. I also want to thank my club, Toomevara, for their great loyalty and support during my time playing with Tipperary. As well as the enjoyment it brings, playing inter-county hurling requires lots of sacrifices particularly from players’ families. I want to thank my wife, Elaine, and my family for their great support at all times. Finally, I want to wish Tipperary well for the future. I have no doubt this current group of players will go on to bring many more honours to the county.
