North Tipperary Local Authorities moving with the times and launching redesigned web sites
The North Tipperary Local Authorities (North Tipperary County Council and Thurles, Nenagh and Templemore Town Councils) are pleased to announce the launch of our redesigned web sites www.tipperarynorth.ie , www.thurlestc.ie, www.nenaghtc.ie and www.templemoretc.ie. The redesigned web sites which were launched by the Mayors of the four Councils in Civic Offices, Nenagh on Monday 19th September, 2011 include many changes and new features with a focus on ‘improving customer service, integrating county and town council web sites, improving overall aesthetics and linking in to social media technologies such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and RSS feeds ‘.
Some of the other changes to the web sites include:
• Making the sites more dynamic and image oriented
• Adding a featured events area
• Setting up and linking to new Twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages
• Displaying the news posted on our Council’s home page on to Twitter and Facebook
• Enabling members of the public to download news and events from the home page on to their mobile phone or desktop
• Enabling people to follow us on our Twitter account @northtippcoco
• Proving prominent quick links to our online services such as ‘ Check are you on the Electoral Register’ and links to Tenders and an Events Calendar
• Providing links to galleries of photos via the Flickr facility
• Adding quick links to information on all our main services
• Provide pages bilingually.
Joe MacGrath, County Manager commented “it is important that members of the public can get the information they require quickly and easily. We are also reaching out to make information available on the social media technologies which are proving to be so popular such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.”
Members of the public are invited to visit us on our web sites, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages and to check out the features and services now available. Comments are welcome and can be provided by selecting the ‘Provide Comments’ quick link on the web site home page.
Also, watch out for the new www.tipperary.com, a North Tipperary business and tourism portal which will be launched in the near future.
