Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. News 19th September

Well done to father & daughter, Tim & Shauna Hayden who both ran the Templemore Fit4Life 4 Mile Track & Trail Race on Sunday 11th September. Tim finished 58th in 33.20mins with Shauna in 59th place in 33.21mins.

The Moycarkey/Moyne/Slieveardagh Challenge takes place this Thursday, 22nd September at 7pm in the Middlepiece, Two Mile Borris. The age groups are for U/10, U/12, U/14, U/16 & U/18 with a special race for the U/8 athletes. Distances are in line with what the athletes have to run in the forthcoming County Juvenile Even Age Championships (ie. U/10 1000m, U/12 2000m, U/14 3000m, U/16 4000m & U/18 5000m (girls), 6000m (boys)). Refreshments for athletes & supporters will be served in the Community Hall, Two Mile Borris after the Challenge.

St. Senan’s Open Cross Country will take place on Sunday 25th September at 1pm in Kilmacow Sports Complex. Ballyfin Open Junior Cross Country also takes place in Emo Court, Co. Laois on Saturday 8th October. See our website at www.moycarkeycoolcrooac.com for more information on both fixtures.

County & Munster Cross Country Fixtures 2011/2012 are as follows:-

Wednesday 28th September – Tipperary Primary Schools Cross Country Championships in Thurles Crokes Complex at 11am.

Sunday 2nd October – Tipperary Juvenile Even Age & Novice Cross Country Championships at 12 noon in the Middlepiece, Turnpike, Two Mile Borris which is being hosted by the Club.

Sunday 16th October – Tipperary Juvenile Uneven Age & Intermediate Cross Country Championships at 12 noon in Powerstown Racecourse, Clonmel.

Sunday 23rd October – Munster Juvenile Even Ages & Novice & U/23 Championships in Clare.

Sunday 6th November – Tipperary County Relays and Masters & U/23 Cross Country Championships at 12 noon in Thurles Crokes Complex.

Sunday 13th Nov – Munster Juvenile Uneven Age & Intermediate Cross Country Championships in Powerstown Racecourse, Clonmel.

Sunday 20th November – Munster Juvenile “B” & Masters Cross Country Championships in Limerick.

Sunday 27th November – Woodies DIY AAI Inter County & Juvenile Even Age Cross Country Championships in Sligo.

Sunday 4th December – Tipperary Juvenile “B” & Novice “B” Championships at 12 noon ( venue tbc).

Sunday 11th December – Woodies DIY AAI Novice & Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country Championships (venue tbc).

Sunday 18th December – Tipperary Senior & Junior Cross Country Championships in Dundrum.

Sunday January 15th – Munster Juvenile Inter –County Relays &   Senior/Junior Cross Country Championships in Kerry.

Cross Country Training takes place every Tuesday & Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in the Middlepiece, Two Mile Borris. New athletes & help are most welcome.

The Club are holding another “Used Clothing” fund raising event. Please donate all unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts & soft toys. These will be collected on Friday 30th September from 5pm to 7pm and Saturday 1st October from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Two Mile Borris Community Hall, O’Dwyer Transport, Ballymoreen & the Handball Alley, Horse & Jockey. If times do not suit, please contact Kay on 086 8382517 and collection may be arranged.

Another Tipperary Little Athletics Jamboree will take place in Templemore Track on Friday 30th September commencing at 6.30pm. The jamboree is open to all our Club’s girls & boys aged 5 to 10 years. It will be a fun team event with each participant taking part in modified running, jumping & throwing events. More details can be found on www.tipperaryathletics.com
