Clonoulty Rossmore Vintage Club
The club held a road run starting in Clonoulty taking in 25 miles of local roads and ending with a barbeque on the green outside Coffeys in Stouke.It was a rare sunny day and 25 vehicles took part. The tractors were mainly Massey Fergusson and David Brown (always a local favourite) with a sprinkling of others. There was a nice variety of cars including Rolls Royce, Riley, Ford, VW, Saab, MG, Land Rover and Triumph with a military Land Rover bringing up the rear ensuring there were no stragglers. We were accompanied part of the way by an NSU Quickly moped gamely keeping up!
Although there was no charge to enter, voluntary donations raised over €200 that will be added to the proceeds from our rally to be donated to the South Tipperary Hospice Movement later in the year. Thanks are also due to our local Gardai for ensuring the run’s safety when negotiating some of the busier roads.
