Beatles classic for outdoor screening in Nenagh – Saturday 13th August

Nenagh Arts Centre’s screens the final film of its outdoor summer season on Saturday evening 13th August at 10 p.m. outside the Arts Centre in the Town Hall, Banba Square.

The film is the Beatles classic ‘A Hard Day’s Night’  the 1964 British black-and-white comedy film directed by Richard Lester and starring the four lads—John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr—during the height of Beatlemania. The film was made in the style of a mockumentary, describing a couple of days in the lives of the group.

The film follows the boys as they try to make their way from Liverpool to a television screening in London and the mishaps that take place, as they battle through fans, traffic and the dark intentions of Paul’s Uncle who wants to break up the band. The film features great songs from the Beatles catalogue up to that point including “A Hard Day’s Night” , “I Should Have Known Better”, “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “She Loves You”

The screening is free, although a donation to support the running of such events is expected, and will take place weather permitting. Tea, coffee, juices and popcorn will be on sale. Patrons are advised to bring warm clothing and something to sit on as chairs will be limited. All are welcome.
