Dundrum AC Club Notes 11th July
Dundrum AC
On Wednesday, July 6 the Coilte Dundrum 10K was hosted. The race was a great success with 248 taking part. John Shanahan had an excellent run to lead the host club home in 6th position with a time of 33:51.Martin Keane, James Ryan and Donal finished with times of 34:55, 35:43 and 36:27. Padraig Coen ran 37:31. Dynampha Ryan had an excellent run finishing 3rd lady with a time of 38:28. Ruaidhri Devitt, Declan o Connor and James Shanahan recorded times of 38:52, 39:13 and 41:20. Brendan Kinnane, Tony Deleaney and Gerry Ralph had times of 41:24, 41:27 and 43:43. Karen Ryan and Christe Ryan finished with times of 43:34 and 43:41. Michael Shanahan, Liz Breen and Leah Macormack had times of 44:20, 44:36 and 44:44. Mary Ann Callinan had a time of 52:23 and Mairead o Connor had 61:20. The club would like to thank civil defence, the scouts, Sean Huges the time keeper, John, Andrea, Louise, Aoife, Mary Ann and Ann Marie, A big thanks is also owed to te stewarts and everyone who contributed refreshments. All the help ensured the smooth running of the event. The club would also like to thank all the sponsors particularly Coilte who contribute so generously.
County Masters
On Saturday, July 9 the county masters road championship was hosted. Donal Keane had a great run finishing in second position with times of 20:13. Jame Ryan, Michael Moore and Wille o Dwyer finished in 6th, 20th and 21st positions with times of 20:37, 22:51 and 22:55. The team finished 4th on the night. John Moore, PJ Holmes and Gerry Ralph were in 24th, 26th and 28th positions with times of 24:30, 24:47 and 25:18. John won the over 50 category with PJ third. Gerry was 2nd in the over 55 category. The three lads combined to win the gold medals in the over 50 team category. Pierce Butler finished in 41st position with a time of 29:23. the club had three athletes running in the junior 3K, Andy Ely was 5th in 15:52 and Shaun Coffey was 6th in 12:54 and Conor Moore was 7th in 15:19. The three boys won the silver medals in the team category.
