County Tipperary Community Games News

Congratulations to our President, Breeda Christie who received another well-deserved award, this time from National Community Games. At our County Committee meeting on Wednesday 6th July Breeda received the award from Jude Feehan, the National Community Games Secretary in recognition of all the wonderful work that she has carried out for Community Games over the years. Well done Breeda, we are so proud of you & keep up the good work. This is Breeda’s  4th award in the past 12 months as she received the Munster Hall of Fame Award for all her work with Tipperary & Munster Athletics, the Canon Hayes National Sports Award for all her work with Tipperary Town A.C. & a National Volunteer in Sport Award for Athletics & Community Games. Well deserved awards for a very special lady.
The Munster Finals for Summer Team Games took place in UL on Saturday 9th July. Congratulations & well done to the following teams who all won medals on the day:-

Girls U/14 Camogie :    Gold –  Tipperary – Cahir
Girls U/16 Hockey :       Silver – Tipperary – Powerstown/Lisronagh
Girls U/15 Rounders :  Silver – Tipperary – Burgess
Girls U/12 Soccer :        Gold – Tipperary – Roscrea
Mixed U/12 Skittles :       Gold – Tipperary –  Ballingarry
Weekend 2 (12th – 15th August) & Weekend 3 (19th to 22nd August) of the National Finals take place in Athlone next month. All documents for National Finalists for Weekend 2 & 3 in Athlone should be with Kathleen England by now. Can all Area Secretaries please ensure that Medical Forms & Consent Forms for Resident & Non-Residents are filled out for all National Finalists & given to Kathleen as soon as possible. For competitors who have previously registered with Community Games & who have a valid ID card, please remember to bring it with you to Athlone. If anyone has misplaced/lost their ID cards, a new card can be issued on the weekend of their competition at a cost of €5.00 to the competitor. Please arrive early on the morning of your competition to allow time to get a new ID card.
