North Tipperary B.T.E.I. Community Strand Summer Exhibition of Crafts held at the local Nenagh Library

The North Tipperary B.T.E.I. (Back to Education Initiative) Community Strand Summer Exhibition of Crafts will be held at the local Nenagh Library, O’Rahilly Street, Nenagh.   The Exhibition will be officially opened by the Mayor of Nenagh Town at 11:00a.m on Wednesday 25th May.

The Back To Education Initiative (B.T.E.I.) provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. The aim is to give people an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities.

Programmes can be offered on a part-time basis, in the mornings, afternoons, evenings.

Courses offered can include:
–    A wide range of modules such as communications, business, computing, childcare, arts and crafts, sport and leisure, All courses are certified by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC)
–    One or more subjects or modules may be taken at a time, at levels 3 or 4, depending on availability. In some cases, work experience may be included.

Anyone who has left full-time education can take part in a course being offered, but priority will be given to those with less than upper second level education.

Courses are free for any adult with less than upper second level education. This includes persons in employment with less than upper second level education, persons who are unwaged, and persons in receipt of social welfare payments, and those with medical cards.

Those who have completed Leaving Certificate but are in receipt of jobseeker payments or means-tested social welfare benefits, and holders of medical cards, and their dependents, are also entitled to free tuition. All others will be charged fees.

All courses offer access to certification at FETAC levels 1 to 4 through the National Framework of Qualifications. Flexible approaches will allow you to build up credits over time and achieve recognised qualifications.
