North Tipp Macra
North Tipperary and Moyne/Templetouhy Macra na Feirme would like to wish Margaret (Maggie) O’Keeffe the very best of luck in The Ms Blue Jeans Country Queen Festival in Athboy this June Bank Holiday weekend. Maggie will be competing along with 31 other girls from all around Ireland, France, England and Scotland for the Miss Blue Jeans Title.
Maggie is the 23 year old daughter of Jimmy and Mary O’Keeffe, Ballysloe and older sister to Alicia, who came second in The International Miss Macra competition last year. She has been a member of Moyne/Templetouhy Macra for the last two years, and holds the positions as Treasurer on both the North Tipperary Macra executive and Moyne/Templetouhy executive. She has taken part in many of the Macra competitions, including, Public Speaking, Impromptu Public speaking, Debating, Impromptu debating, Capers, Dublin city Talent, Ladies Basketball and various other competitions. Maggie also was one of the front runners and chief organisers in organising Moyne/Templetouhy’s fundraiser for Bee For Battens last November where the club raised just under €4,000. She is a very active Macra member, part-taking, in social dancing, Mountain Climbing, Camping and various Club exchange events.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish her the best of Luck in Athboy Co. Meath next weekend. Irish band Director has been announced as one of the many bands playing at the 2011 Blue Jean Country Queen Festival. The award winning rock quartet will take to the stage on Saturday 4th June. Coupled with the fact that award winning production company ‘Mind the Gap Films’ will be filming this year’s festival for a TV3 documentary, there is great excitement surrounding what promises to one of the better summer festivals.
