Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. Club Notes

6 of our Club athletes travelled to Ennis Track A.C. Open Sports in Lees Road Sports Facility, Ennis on Sunday last, 22^nd May with great success. In the Boys U/9 Dillon Ryan came 2^nd in both the 80m & 200m while his brother Jack won silver in the Boys U/11 100m & gold in the Long Jump. Their older brothers David & Daniel won 5 trophies between them with David winning silver in the Boys U/12 100m, gold in the Long Jump & bronze in the 600m & Daniel winning gold in both the Boys U/13 100m & Long Jump. Their sister Anna competed very well amid tough competition in the Girls U/10 80m & 200m but was outside the top 3 while Shane Burke put in good performances in the Boys U/11 100m & Long Jump & was very unlucky not to be placed among the winners when he came 4^th in both events. Congratulations & well done to all.

Well done to Club athletes, Ciara Mocker (Presentation Thurles) & Siobhan Hennessy (Ursuline Thurles) who both won medals at the

Munster Schools Track & Field Championships in CIT, Cork on Saturday last, 21^st May. Ciara won Silver in the Minor Girls Shot Putt with a fine throw of 8.17m while Siobhan won the Inter Girls 2000m Walk in a time of 12.01.7. Both girls had previously competed at the

East Munster Schools Track & Field Championships on Wednesday 4^th May where Ciara won Bronze in the Minor Girls Shot Putt with a great throw of 8.77m & Siobhan won Gold in the Inter Girls 2000m Walk. Both girls will now compete in the AVIVA Irish Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore on Saturday 4^th June & we wish them every success in their chosen events.

Good luck to Kieren Hennessy, Jack Fallon & Declan Ryan who will compete for Tipperary at the National Community Games Cross Country Relays on Saturday 28^th May. Kieren will take part in the Boys U/14 Mixed Distance Relay while Jack & Declan take part in the Boys U/12 Mixed Distance Relay.

Many thanks to everyone who supported the Club’s fundraising Clothing Recycling Drive last weekend. We had a great response to our appeal & your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Please note that the date of the County Juvenile “B” Track & Field Championships has now been changed to Sunday 3^rd July at 12 noon. The County Trials for the National Inter-County Relays in Tullamore on 24^th July will also be held on the same day for Girls & Boys U/13, U/15, U/17 & U/19.

Sat 18^th June – Munster U/14 to U/19 Track & Field Championships in Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Sun 19^th June – Munster U/14 to U/19 Track & Field Championships in Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Sat 25^th June – AAI Juvenile Team Games for U/9 to U/11 in Templemore.

Sun 26^th June – County Tipperary Community Games Athletic Finals in Templemore at 12 noon.

Sun 3^rd July – County Juvenile “B” Track & Field Championships at 12 noon in Templemore Track & County Trials for National Inter-County Relays for Girls & Boys U/13, U/15, U/17 & U/19.

Training for the Outdoor Season continues every Monday evening from 7.45pm to 8.45pm & every Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in Templemore Track. Cost is €2.00 per athlete. New members & help are always welcome.
