Mayor of Nenagh congratulates North Tipperary u 12 Team on winning Cashin Cup

As Mayor of Nenagh I want to Congratulate Mike Gavin and his team for winning the prestigious Jim Cashin cup last Saturday against a much fancied Waterford side. The game was played on the fantastic Borris St Kevins pitch in Littleton. North Tipperary had to beat Cork Limerick Desmond Clare South Tipperary and Donegal along the way to this Irish final. Their only defeat of the Year was to their opponents at the weekend Waterford who beat them in the Munster final in a penalty shoot out. The team is the result of the Emerging talent programme so well run by North Tipperary Development Officer James Scott who,s wages are part subsidised by North Tipperary County Council. The investment is getting real value for money with over 200 children now in the Emerging talent programme. Mike Gavins men were full value for their 2-1 victory. Geographically North Tipperary was well represented with players from Nenagh, Ballymackey, Templemor,e Puckane Ballina, Birdhill, Rearcross, Ardcroney and Sallypark making up the panel. I want to thank and congratulate the players and management of Mike Gavin John Delaney Mark McKenna and Dave Rooney for the dedication to this very talented team. I would also like to congratulate Borris St Kevins for the standard of their pitch which is the best I have seen outside the Premiership.
