East Munster Youth Rugby Weekly Report 31 January 2011

The East Munster fixtures for last weekend, fell foul of the frosty conditions with several matches been cancelled. The only matches to go ahead were in the U15 league north section where Nenagh moved to the top of the table after receiving a w/o from Kilfeacle, Cashel moved into second place with a win over Galbally on Sat evening after a tremendous game of rugby which was a credit to both teams. However we will have to wait until next week for the final league positions to be decided following the cancellation of the Clanwilliam v Thurles match because of frost. This match has been re-fixed for Sun 6th Feb with both teams still in contention for a semi-final place. The only match to be played in the south section went ahead on Fri night when Carrick-on Suir defeated Waterford City 31-12.

As for the U17 dev league, all matches were cancelled due to frozen pitches.

The Pan Munster U17 & 19 leagues: this was a good weekend for East Munster teams with big wins for Dungarvan in Listowel 53-6 on Sat & Waterpark 54-5 on Sun, Nenagh Ormond’s match with Thomond was cancelled when the referee didn’t show. The U19 league saw good wins for Waterpark, Kilfeacle and Nenagh Ormond over senior opposition UL Boh’s Sunday’s Well and Bruff, An injury ravaged Thurles fell to a heavy defeat away to Thomond to complete the first weekend of pan Munster matches.
