County Tipperary Community Games

Team Draws for the Winter Games, Tag & Mini Rugby & Outdoor Soccer will take place on Wednesday 9th February 2011 at 8.30pm in Hayes Hotel, Thurles. Results of the draws will be posted on our website at www.tipperarycommunitygames.com. We also have a Facebook page at http://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/Co-Tipperary-Community-Games. If anyone has any Community Games related photos or news, please e-mail the details to tipperarycommunitygamespro@gmail.com.

Gymnastic Classes to prepare for Community Games will be held in Our Lady of Mercy Primary School in Cahir every Saturday from 11 to 12. Come along on the day or contact 086 9643627. The County Final will be held on the Bank Holiday Monday, May 2 in Moyle Rovers GAA Complex, Lisronagh, Clonmel.

2011 Events Calendar

  • Any Areas who have entered Indoor Soccer teams should be preparing their panel sheets now. Finals for the North & South have to take place by the 19th/20th February. South matches will be held in Powerstown & the Co-Ordinator is Joan O’ Connor while the North matches will be held in Newport with Willie Jones as the Co-Ordinator. The proposed date & venue for the County Finals is 5th/6th March in Templemore. Updates on these dates will be posted on our website.
  • County Quiz Final in Presentation Secondary School Hall, Thurles on Friday 4th March at 7.30pm. Areas can enter as many teams as they want.
  • County Art & Model Making Finals in Silvermines Hall, Silvermines on Saturday 12th March at 12 noon. Please have all entries to County Secretary, Kitty England a week beforehand. Areas can enter 2 children per category (eg. 2 Girls U/8, 2 Boys U/8 etc).
  • County Cross Country Finals in Thurles Crokes Complex on Sunday 3rd April at 2pm. Age groups are U/12, U/13 & U/14. Please note that like last year, the Community Games Cross Country Finals will be held on Sunday 29th May & will clash with the Quarter Final of the Munster Championships when Tipperary play Cork in Semple Stadium. To avoid the same situation as last year, all Area Secretaries are asked to explain this to their athletes & confirm their availability on the May weekend before they run in the County selection race.
  • County Talent & Choir competitions in the GAA Hall, Lattin Village on Saturday 9th April at 5.30pm. The Talent competitions will include music, singing, recitation, drama & dancing. Each competitor can take part in 1 solo & 1 group event only. All entries to Seamus Hogan on 087 1382463         or joanhogan@eircom.net. & the deadline for entries is Thursday 31st March 2011. All entries will be included in a programme which will be available on the day.
  • County Finals for the Handwriting (new event) & Projects will take place in Dunkerrin Hall, Dunkerrin (Moneygall) in April (date to be confirmed). Each Area can enter 2 Girls U/10 & 2 Boys U/10 for Handwriting. Handwriting Rules can be found on our website under “Downloads” or on the “County Draws” page. Projects are for U/11, U/13 & U/16.
  • County Gymnastics Finals will take place in Moyle Rovers GAA Complex, Lisronagh on the Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May.
  • County Swimming Finals will take place in Clonmel Pool on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th May. 1 day each will be allocated to boys & girls. Days & times to be confirmed later.
  • County Athletics Finals in Templemore Track on Sunday 26th June. Parade will start at 11.30am with competition commencing at 12 noon.
