New autumn day time morning courses 2010:
1. SELF ADVOCACY – learning committee meeting skills, presentation skills, learning to stand up for yourself in a positive way.
2. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY –
(Must Have Own Digital Camera). Having a laptop
would be an advantage but not essential.
3. GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS – using a digital camera to design graphics on computer. Must have completed the Digital Photography module first.
4. PERSONAL AND INTERPERSONAL – self awareness course, learning about what you like or dislike, learning what type of decision making skills do you make, learning to understand different behaviours and how these behaviours apply to your life.
5. CROCHET CLASSES basic crochet course – small number of places available.
6. PATCHWORK SEWING MACHINE SKILLS – making patchwork items on a sewing machine. (having own sewing machine would be an advantage but not essential). Small number of places available.
7. BASIC COMPUTER COURSE –
As the B.T.E.I. modules are FETAC accredited, each student will be required
to complete a portfolio of written work.

Start Dates: Week commencing 6th September 2010
Duration: 12 Weeks to Christmas – one morning a week.
Courses free to Social Welfare recipients and medical card holders
Preference will be given to those who are long term unemployed.
An open day will be held for the successful applicants at the end of August.
