Lonergan welcomes the reintroduction of the Clonmel Borough District Amenity Grants Scheme for Residents Associations

Councillor Martin Lonergan representing Clonmel Borough District is pleased to welcome the continuation in 2018 of the Amenity Grants Scheme formulated to assist residents associations in carrying out maintenance and development of open spaces in housing estates.

Commenting on the news Councillor Lonergan said, “Applications for grant aid will be considered from residents associations within the Borough District of Clonmel for amenity type improvements. The types of activities which may qualify will include:

  • Landscaping and development of open spaces
    • Provision or improvement of litter bins and street furniture
    • Purchase of grass – cutting equipment

Grants can be applied for by downloading the  application form and returning to Clonmel Borough District office, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Emmet Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary or by directing contacting me on 087 6497083.”

Concluding Cllr. Lonergan added, “The latest date for receipt of completed applications, together with supporting documentation, to be submitted to the Clonmel Borough District office no later than 31st May, 2018 at 4.30p.m. A limited fund is available and the submission of an application does not guarantee that a grant will be allocated but I would encourage groups to apply. Many of our residents groups do tremendous work in their own locality and thankfully we as a Borough District will continue to assist and support them through this scheme of grants moving forward.”
