Many will be familiar with the big budget movies inspired by the works of HG Wells (The War of the Worlds and The Invisible Man) for example, but fewer might have actually read the Victorian morality tales that inspired them.

  1. G. Wells’ was a brilliant descriptive writer , his debut novel The Time Machinewas published in 1895, as one of the first “time travel” novels – in fact one of the first major science fiction novels.

With well over a century passed since it was conceived, The Time Machine arrives on stage ready to be appreciated by a modern audience who will marvel at how relevant it remains in its observation of the future and the warnings given long ago that the transcendence to futurity is not without danger.

In the classic style, which Dyad Productions has staked out as its own, The Time Machine is a captivating and new adaptation directly inspired by the original novella; it is a brilliant retelling of the cautionary story.

2018: In this age of uncertainty, where the shadows of tyranny, intolerance and war darken the path into tomorrow, how much time do we have left? If civilisation falls today, what will become of us?

In producer Rebecca Vaughan and writer/director Elton Townend Jones’ new and radical interpretation of the classic, a Victorian time traveller transcends across the ages from 1900 to our own far future – from the fall of man to the end of the world – discovering the fate of our endeavours and uncovering our darkest fears. Can we change the future? Or has the end already begun?

Expect high octane, frenetic and deeply intense acting that will stay with you for a while…. it might even be a philosophical journey, a nightmare adventure, or a cautionary tale – this is the story of us all.

Not to be missed!
