Masterful Performance in All-Ireland Finals
The Masters Athletes continue to shine at National Level for Templemore Athletic Club.
The Masters Men team won the Gold Medal in the 4 x 200m Relay in Athlone I.T. on Sunday last.  The team members were Johnnie Doran, Danny Meaney, Rickie O’ Brien and Adrian McGinley.  They struck Gold in an excellent time of 1min 42.97s.
This was their fifth win over the past six years.  They finished second last year.  Brian Murray missed the race due to injury.
Kevin Shortall jumped 1.65m in the Master High Jump to win Bronze as well as being substitute in the Relay Team.
Danny Meaney also collected Gold in Masters Long Jump with a jump of 5.65m.
Martin O’ Brien won Gold in the Masters Walk, which was very competitive.
Then Genevieve Rowland competed at Masters Level for the first time and won two medals.  She was second in the Long Jump and finished In third place in the Shot Putt.  Then she same in fourth place in both the 60m and 200m finals in her fastest times yet.
So ten All-Ireland medals represent a great weekend for this talent squad.
