Some of our Club athletes were in action over the weekend in Cork I.T. on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th April. Well done to Daniel & David Ryan who took part in the Leevale Open Senior Track & Field Meet on Saturday 18th with Daniel winning the Youth Boys 110m Hurdles & David the Youth Boys 400mH.  Good luck to our 6 athletes who will be taking part in the Munster Pentathlon Championships in Cork I.T on Sunday 26th April. Daniel Ryan takes part in the Youth Pentathlon, David Ryan in the U/16 Pentathlon, Jack Ryan U/15, Anna Ryan & Adam O’Dywer U/14 & Dillon Ryan U/13. We wish them well in their endeavours.


The Club will be re-launching its FIT4Life Group on Saturday 25th April at 9am in Littleton Community & Sports Centre. This group will cater for walkers, joggers & runners of all abilities & all adults are welcome to come along & join in.


Training for the Track & Field Season takes place every Tuesday & Thursday evenings in the Moycarkey Community & Sports Centre in Littleton. Cost is 2 euro per athlete. Training sessions are split into two groups – 6.30pm to 7.30pm time slot is for athletes born 2007 and younger & 7.30pm to 8.30pm is for athletes born 2006 & older. New athletes & help always welcome. There will also be an opportunity for any interested athletes to avail of training at Templemore Track on Thursday evenings only from 6.45pm to 7.45pm. Any interested parties should contact one of the Club coaches at our training in Littleton.


The Area Athletics Finals for Moycarkey Borris will take place on Thursday 7th May in Templemore Track at 7pm sharp with registration from 6.30pm to 6.55pm. All participants must reside in the parish of Moycarkey Borris & be under the age as of 31st July 2015. There will be track events for U/8’s & track & field events for U/10 to U/16.


Following on from the recent success of Club athletes at All Ireland Club level last week, Liam McDonagh & Jack Ryan were in action for their school, CBS Thurles at the All Ireland Schools National Cup in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on Wednesday 15th April. The CBS Thurles overcame their opposition, Larkin Community College to take the All Ireland “C” title with CBS Captain, Jack Ryan winning “Most Valuable Player” of the match. On Saturday 18th April, Jack & Dillon Ryan were in action for their Club, the Kestrels, Portarlington against Portlaoise to finish as runners up in the Midland U/14 Cup & League. On Sunday, Dillon Ryan played for the Kestrels Boys U/12 team who beat Portlaoise to win the Midlands Cup with Dillon being awarded the prize for “Most Valuable Player” of the match. On Sunday afternoon, his older brothers, Daniel & David played for the Kestrels Boys U/16 team who beat the Gliders, Newbridge to win the Midlands Cup & the League with Daniel being awarded “Most Valuable Player” of the match. Congratulations to all our Club athletes on such wonderful achievements.


  • FIT4Life Group – The Club will be re-starting its FIT4Life Group on Saturday 25th April at 9am. If anyone is interested in getting involved either as an organiser or participant, please contact Billy Purcell, Paddy Cummins or Shane Mullaney.
  • Clothing Collection – our next clothing collection will take place on 20th June so if everyone could get collecting now, we will have a great fundraiser in June. All proceeds go towards our athletes & the running of the Club.


  • Fri 24th April – Sprint Hurdles Workshop with Denis Finnerty & Aidan McGrath in Nenagh Indoor Stadium from 7pm to 8.30pm.
  • Tues 28th April – A Discus Workshop with Jerry Horgan in Templemore Track from 7pm to 9pm. The cost of each of these Workshops is 5 euro per athlete payable on the night.   • Wed 13th May – High Jump Workshop in Clonmel from 7pm to 9pm.
  • Tues 19th May – Long Jump & Triple Jump Workshop in Templemore from 7pm to 9pm.
