Ballyhoura Development offering places on Outdoor Recreation Course

Are you fit and active and willing to take on a challenge? Enjoy sports and have an interest in adventure sports? Then Ballyhoura Development Ltd can offer the perfect course for you! This FETAC level 5 course can help you develop the skills and qualifications required to work as an outdoor instructor. This new and upcoming course taking place in Kilfinane  is something different and ideal for someone who loves the outdoors.  A typical day can involve you mountain biking on the Ballyhoura Trails, hill walking in the nearby Galtees, Knockmealdowns, or the Comeragh Mountains, or kayaking on Lough Gur or the Lower Shannon, all exciting activities which may be of an interest for someone up for a challenge. This will involve modules in FETAC Level 4/5 including Adventure Activities, Outdoor Recreation, Work Experience, Orienteering, Outdoor Leadership, Powerboating, Occupational First Aid, Dinghy Sailing, Kayak Instruction Skills, and finally, Communications. It will also offer  Mountain Bike Leader, Mountain Skills 1 & 2, and Leave No Trace Awards.

To qualify to be a participant on this course, you must have a great interest in sport, an ambition to work outdoors, as well as being fit and active.  It will begin in Mid September, and is run by Ballyhoura Development, in conjunction with SOLAS.  Interviews will take place in mid August so anyone interested should apply quickly as there is already a huge interest and places may be taken up quickly.
