Moycarkey Coolcroo Athletic Club News
Well done to Ben O’Dwyer (47th overall) who was part of the CBS Thurles gold medal winning team in the Minor Boys race at the Munster Schools Cross Country Championships in Cork I.T. on Thursday 13th February. Kieren Hennessy also competed well in the Intermediate Boys race finishing in 34th place with his team, Thurles CBS finishing in 5th place overall in team competition.
Well done also to Club athletes, Paddy Cummins & Raymond Ryan who represented the Club at the County Intermediate Road Championships in Galbally on Sunday 16th February. Paddy finished 10th in 29.54 & Raymond was 14th in 31.17. Great running.
Upcoming workshops for Club athletes:-
* Sprints Workshop in Moyne Pavilion on Thursday 27th February from 7pm to 9pm for coaches & athletes aged 11+.
Please note that as this workshop clashes with our Thursday night Club training, we will have our session on Wednesday night at the same time.
Dates for your Diary
The very popular Leevale Open Sports will take place on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th April in Cork I.T. See www.leevale.org for more details. The Club always has a representation at this event so we hope that it will be business as usual for 2014. Ferrybank A.C. will also be hosting an Open Sports Day on Sunday 13th April in Waterford RSC at 12 noon. All details at www.tipperaryathletics.com.
Club Training
Please note that due to the Sprints Workshop in Moyne on Thursday 27th February, Club training will be held on Wednesday 26th February instead from 7pm to 8pm. All athletes are to be signed in & out of training by parents/guardians each night. The cost per training session will be 2 euro per athlete.
Awards Night
2013 Athlete Awards will be presented on Saturday 22nd February at 8.15pm in the Community Hall, Two Mile Borris. Light refreshments will be served. All welcome.
2014 Registration
2014 Registration Forms are still available for collection on training nights. All juvenile & senior athletes need to complete these forms as soon as possible. Registration fee is €15.00 per athlete for the year. Club singlets will also be available to purchase at a cost of €15.00 each.
