Aglish Gathering
Plans are all in motion for the inaugural Stepping Stones Feile taking place in Aglish, North Tipperary over the August Bank Holiday weekend. With the support of North Tipperary LEADER Partnership & North Tipperary Local Authority both Aglish Residents Development Committee & Aglish Old School Committee have the Red Carpet ready to roll out for local & visitor alike.  The two day event promises something for everyone, from workshops to suit the Tiny Tots to the Nifty Ninety’s, walking on the picturesque Knockshegowna Hill, a leisurely boat trip on Lough Derg or a guided heritage stroll around Aglish & loads of other fun filled family activities.  On the Saturday night the official opening of the recently restored Village Hall will take place with live music & refreshments, a great opportunity for everyone to come reminisce & reacquaint themselves with each other & the area. A Chinese Lantern Ceremony will also be held after dark on Saturday in remembrance of past pupils & residents of the area. Sunday will be a busy day with Vintage Displays & Demonstrations, Village Craft Market, Family Fun Day with Traditional Games, Street Theatre, Pig-On-Spit & lots more.  On Sunday evening the weekend will wind-up with an Open Air Music Fest featuring the renowned band The Kilkennys with support from Rock Band Origin & Tipp FM’s 80’s DJ Aidan Mac along with a few surprize guest artists.  Both committees are really looking forward to extending a huge “Cead Mile Failte” to anyone joining in the activities over the weekend and are also extremely grateful to for all the support they have received from the community & the various different business’s that have provided sponsorship, a full list of which is detailed on the Program of Events which is  currently available.  Tickets, which cost 10euro,are now on sale for the Open Air Music Fest and can be got by contacting 087-6005417.
