Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris’ at Nenagh Arts Centre

Marion Cotillard and Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris

Nenagh Film Club presents Woody Allen’s Oscar winning ‘Midnight in Paris’
on the big screen on Thursday, 5th April.
Shot in Allen’s trademark conversational style, the film has been regarded
as a return to form from the director of such classics ‘Annie Hall’ and ‘
Manhattan’.

The story follows two young Americans, who have been together since their
school days and are to be married in the fall. Both bride and bridegroom
and their families head to Paris for a few days.

While Inez (Rachel McAdams) and her mother are overjoyed by a chance
meeting with another couple, and together they discover the tourist gems of
the city and its luxury stores, Gil (Owen Wilson) soaks up the mysterious
magic of places where his most admired authors once experienced “a movable
feast.” He feels that in Paris he will find the inspiration that will
help him exchange his success as a Hollywood screenwriter for the
courage to be a novelist. But his road to discovery comes with an
unexpected twist, and at the journey’s end Gil discovers what he truly
wants from life.

The film screens at 8 p.m. on Thursday, 5th April. Admission is €7. Nenagh
Film Club presentations are screened on a cinema screen with cinema sound.
