Queen’s visit will provide great tourism boost to South Tipperary – Hayes

South Tipperary TD Tom Hayes has welcomed the upcoming visit to South Tipperary by Queen Elizabeth, saying the trip will offer a great opportunity for the Tipperary brand to be marketed to UK visitors.

“Confirmation that the Rock of Cashel will be among the list of destinations on the Queen’s itinerary is great news for this part of the country.

“This is an opportunity for South Tipperary and Cashel to hang out its brightest colours and show off some of its finest attractions. Thousands of people visit these tourist spots every year, and now we will be given a rare opportunity to showcase them on the world stage.

“The UK is our most important market when it comes to tourism, and the British public will be watching while Queen Elizabeth is on Irish shores next month. South Tipperary needs to seize this opportunity to bolster tourism, and in turn create a positive jobs spin off.

“As regards to heritage, beautiful countryside, and attractions like the equine industry, South Tipperary is second to none in this country. I am pleased that we will have a chance to show-case our county and I think that this is a great opportunity for UK visitors to see this area at its best,” Tom Hayes said.
