Aherlow, to cater for all levels of walkers. Enjoy corrie lakes, open mountain, woodland trails and forest tracks led by experienced guides from the Galtee Walking Club. There will be 3 walks on Saturday, including one to Galtymore, graded easy, moderate and difficult. The Sunday walk will offer a long or short option across the Loops on Slievenamuck.

Local tourism providers, who are part of the Walkers Welcome Initiative, are offering a superb attractive weekend rate. Music sessions and sing song both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Winter Walking Festival welcomes groups, clubs and individual walkers to experience the delights of walking the scenic Glen of Aherlow in a Winter setting.

FRIDAY JANUARY 28TH
Welcome evening at Aherlow House Hotel at 9pm with Guest Speakers and check out the routes and meet the guides for the weekend

SATURDAY JANUARY 29TH:
9AM: A Walk: 16Km -5/6 Hours.
The Galtymore Horseshoe starting from Glencush Boreen via Lough Curra taking in Galtymore & Galtybeg to enjoy the magnificence of the Galtees. (Bus transfer available to & from the start and finish of walk)

10AM: B Walk: 12Km. 4 Hours.
Walking out from Aherlow House Hotel through the Glen of Aherlow Nature Park to Christ the King. Follow the red loop to the Millennium Stone and on to Bansha Wood, returning to Aherlow House Hotel via Rock of Thorabh.

11AM: C Walk. 10Km. 3 Hours.
Walk the Ballinacourty Loop starting from Aherlow House Hotel and taking in the super views at Christ the King.
(Optional dinner in Aherlow House Hotel at 8pm & music sessions in the hotel bar.)

Sunday JANUARY. 30th
10AM.A Walk: 5/6 hours.
Enjoy a 5 to 6 hour hike across the Slievenamuck taking in the Dolmen overlooking the village Lisvarrinane.

10.30AM: B & C Walks.
Both groups will walk out from Aherlow House Hotel together with the B group enjoying a 4 hour trek while the C group will do a 2 hour walk across Slievenamuck.

All Walks €10 each payable on registration each morning – Soup and Rolls in Aherlow House Hotel after each walk.
