Tipperary Food Producer ‘James Whelan Butchers’ Win Prestigious Irish Web Award 2010
Tipperary Food Producer Pat Whelan has been announced the winner of the Best SME / Small Business Website for jameswhelanbutchers.com at the 2010 Realex Irish Web Awards.
The Realex Payments Irish Web Awards are held annually to recognise people who do great things on the web. The awards are judged transparently and are open to anyone in Ireland.
The event was organised by Damien Mulley and hosted by the exuberant Rick O’Shea Today Fm DJ at the Mansion House, Dublin. A number of new categories were added to the 2010 Irish Web Awards with the ‘Best SME/Small Business Website’ being one of them. This was James Whelan Butchers first time being nominated and winning at the Irish Web Awards.
Commenting on the award win Pat Whelan said, “I would like to thank the great team we work with on the new website Sabrina Dent and Katherine Nolan for designing the site and big thanks to Damien Mulley, Pivotal Communications (sponsors of the SME/Small Business Category).
jameswhelanbutchers.com has also been shortlisted for the Eircom Spiders Web Awards 2010; Ireland’s premier internet and web awards recognising excellence and achievement in the field of creativity and innovation. Winners will be announced in November 2010.
Pat Whelan is also Chairperson of the Tipperary Food Producers Network and he and over thirty Tipperary Food Producers are counting down to their first unique Christmas Cookery Extravaganza in association with Bord Bia which will showcase the delights of Tipperary on November 10 at Clonmel Park Hotel.
Tickets include a wine and a canapé reception with only food produced by the Tipperary Food Producers being served guests will be served by their local food producers. An evening of fantastic cooking tips for Christmas by Bord Bia Chef Sheila Kelly assisted by Sarah Baker, Cloughjordan Cookery School and Pat Whelan of James Whelan Butchers will be demonstrated; followed by some expert tips from only one of four in Irelands Master of Wine Jane Boyce.
Over thirty Tipperary food producers will showcase their goods at one of many food stands, forming an avenue of local food to welcome you to this very special evening.
