Tipp Students display innovation and creativity at Young Scientists Exhibition – Mattie McGrath

Independent TD Mattie McGrath has described all of the Tipperary students who are taking part in the 3 day Young Scientist Exhibition at the RDS in Dublin as fantastic ambassadors for the county. Deputy McGrath was speaking after he visited the Tipperary School stands at the major annual educational and entrepreneurial event:

“Every year I genuinely look forward to visiting the Young Scientist Exhibition.

This year has proved yet again that those who travelled from Tipperary all contributed significantly to the high quality of the event.

Students and their teachers are travelling from Clonmel, Thurles, Borrisoleigh, Roscrea and Thurles, to name but a few.

I have every confidence that they will do themselves and their families and schools proud through the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that they possess.

Each year it is a tonic to see such vision and optimism among so many of our young people and indeed to see the superb collaboration between themselves and the teachers who have inspired them to pursue science with a passion.

I would highly encourage all parents and students to take the time each year to visit and support this wonderful Exhibition where the work of Fr Tom Burke and Dr Tony Scott who started the event 51 years ago continues at a level that is truly extraordinary,” concluded Deputy McGrath.
