Henry Shefflin Backed To Be Next Cats Boss

Legend Henry Shefflin has been the subject of support to be the next manager of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling team after taking his first step into management at Ballyhale Shamrocks.

The 10-time All-Ireland winner was gambled into 10/1 from 20/1 after press reports confirmed Shefflin, alongside his brother, will be the new manager at his local club where he won three All-Ireland titles between 2007 and 2015.

Ballyhale Shamrocks have also been supported to win the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship and are now 7/2 from 9/2, while Shefflin’s first season in management is 33/1 to end with an All-Ireland Club Senior Hurling Championship.

Lawrence Lyons, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented, “Henry Shefflin is following in the footsteps of Brian Cody by turning his hand to management and he’s been a popular choice with punters to eventually replace the legendary manager at 10/1 although DJ Carey may have something to say about that.”

He added: “Ballyhale Shamrocks have featured in plenty of bets in recent days following the news and are now 7/2 to win the Kilkenny Senior Championship and with King Henry taking the reins, their 33/1 quote to win the All-Ireland Club SHC might not be so big once punters have their say .”
