7 days racing + 150,000 patrons = 15,000 refuse bags + 7,000 wheelie bin liners

The equation for another successful event clean for Ryans Cleaning

The Galway Festival looks on target to reach 150,000 patrons this week however, as the racing stars and festival fashionistas enjoy the limelight there are unsung heroes doing trojan work behind the scenes every day at Ballybrit, keeping the place spick and span are the teams from event cleaning company Ryans Cleaning.

Ryans Cleaning have been the event cleaning choice for the Galway Festival since 2001 and this year the team will use no less than 15,000 refuse bags and 7,000 wheelie bin liners while ‘keeping things clean’ throughout the festival. The entire site is cleaned top to bottom each day which includes the internal cleaning of the four story Killanin and Millenium Stands, temporary buildings and official press, secretary and weigh room areas as well as all temporary structures. Each area is thoroughly cleaned, restrooms are sanitised and restocked and the entire venue is basically transformed back to an impeccable standard overnight in advance of the next day’s racing.

Managing Director, Elaine Ryan said “we are affectionately called the ‘night cleaning fairies’ as although we cover a lot of ground keeping on top of the site throughout the raceday itself, our intensive cleaning really kicks off after racing when our night teams get into their stride to restore the venue to its very best for the following days racing. Our extremely efficient staff and proven operations plan combine to make the immense task manageable and the quality of clean on point. Specific teams are designated for toilet cleaning, scrubbing and washing of kitchens and bar areas, hovering corporate areas, cleaning all permanent and temporary structures, litter picking and waste removal and so on. All these elements combine to restore the site each evening under the watchful eye of our Operations Managers, Sinead and Irina to ensure the quality of cleaning is to our usual exceptional standards.”

Ryans Cleaning, Operations Manager, Sinead Cleary commented “The Galway Races is a busy week alright with a quick turnaround required each evening but this is what we do every day and we take it in our stride whether its festivals, shows, events or concerts here at home or in the UK the team and I are always on the go delivering a top quality cleaning service. Speaking of strides I am wearing a Fitbit this week and have already clocked up roughly 45 miles, an average of 25,000 steps per day!”

The festival concludes on Sunday however, as its festival season Ryans Cleaning will pack up and move alongto V Festival Chelmsford and V Festival Telford. Their bigger upcoming gigs in Ireland are Electric Picnic, Croke Park and the National Ploughing Championships and Leeds, Creamfields in the UK.
