Under 16 Tipperary Ladies Football Championship
Tipperary Ladies Football Under 16 Championship commenced this weekend with the first game being played on Saturday last. In the C Competition Group 2 Moycarkey Borris overcame Holycross Ballycahill in their first round on a score line, Moycarkey Borris 0-15 Holycross Ballycahill 2-2.
While in Group 1 Ardfinnan defeated Ballyporeen on a score line, Ardfinnan 7-17 Ballyporeen 2-2 and Moyle Rovers overcame St. Patrick’s, Moyle Rovers 3-8 St. Patrick’s 2-2.
Munster Ladies Football Under 16 Championship
Tipperary Ladies Football Under 16 team will play Cork in the Munster Ladies Football Under 16 Championship on Sunday, March 19th in Mallow at 2pm.
Post Primary Schools Competitions
In the Lidl All Ireland Senior ‘A’ Post Primary School Championship Semi Final John The Baptist, Limerick, with a number of players from Aherlow, Lattin Cullen and Emly, overcame Presentation College, Tuam, Galway on a score line John The Baptist, Limerick 8-8 Presentation College, Tuam, Galway 2-12.
In the Lidl All Ireland Senior ‘B’ Post Primary School Championship Semi Final congratulations to Loreto SS, Clonmel who defeated Sacred Heart, Westport on a score line Loreto SS, Clonmel 1-19 Sacred Heart, Westport 1-6.
Ladies Football Higher Education Competitions
This weekend saw the Ladies Football Higher Education Competitions draw to a close. There was four cups available in the Competitions.
In the Giles Cup Dublin City University (DCU) defeated Athlone IT in a tightly contested game DCU 3-7 Athlone IT 0-14. In the Lynch Cup Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) defeated Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), WIT 1-17 DIT 2-9. University City of Dublin (UCD) defeated IT Blanchardstown in the Moynihan Cup by a single point UCD 1-9 IT Blanchardstown 0-11. In the O’Connor Cup University of Limerick (UL) overcame University of Cork City (UCC) on a score line UL 2-5 UCC 0-8.
Tipperary Ladies Football was well represented on the college teams and management. Well done to all who took part in the competitions.
Post Primary Schools Blitzes
Tipperary Ladies Football Association will be hosting their Post Primary Schools Blitzes in Rockwell College. The Under 15 blitz will be held on Thursday, April 27th while the Under 14 blitz is organised for Tuesday, May 16th.
Munster Ladies Football will host a first year Post Primary Blitz on Wednesday, May 3rd in Mallow.
Full details of these blitzes will be emailed to the Post Primary Schools.
As part of the requirement to have all coaches qualified to coach Tipperary Ladies Football are running a number of Fundamentals Coaching Courses. Ballyporeen are holding their fundamentals course in Ballyporeen on Saturday, March 25th from 10am to 4pm.
