The Source Arts Centre Is Gearing Up For A Night Of Swing Music And Nostalgia

The Source Arts Centre is gearing up for a night of ‘swingtastic’ dance moves, 30’s glamour and high energy swing with music from The Sam Barker Trio. On Saturday 28th January it will be time to get out your dancing shoes. From the 1930’s gypsy swing of Django Reinhardt and Stépanhe Grappelli to a host of famous dance classics, this infectious sound will get your toes tapping and your body shaking. You’ll be lindy hopping your way home!

The seats are coming out and The Source Arts Centre auditorium will be transformed for a night of nostalgia. If you don’t feel like dancing, just sit back and take in all the 30’s glamour as the music takes you back in time to ballroom and bygone days. The social event will be attended by swing dance groups from Cork city, Galway, Lismore, Kilkenny and further afield for a ‘Swingcopation’ and Sam Barker Trio debut at The Source.

Swing dancing is fantastic for people of all ages and abilities to get involved: an opportunity to meet like-minded people and make new friends, a chance to learn something new. For updates on what is happening in the Thurles Swing Dance scene join their public group on Facebook email if you have any questions.
