North Tipperary Macra na Feirme

On Wednesday evening last the 1st June the Annual General Meeting of North Tipperary Macra took place in Clonmore Hall. A huge number of members from across the North Tipperary region were present on the night. We were also delighted to welcome Munster Vice President Ger Griffin from Co Cork.
Chairperson JC Ahern opened the meeting by thanking all officers for all their hard work over the last 12 months. “It has been a great year for North Tipperary Macra. There has been many achievements including hosting the National Macra na Feirme AGM in May” he added.
The new committee were elected on the night and have plans on growing North Tipperary Macra even more this year. A presentation was made on the night to Brigid Quigley, who served as North Tipperary Training and Development Officer for many years. She spoke on her time as TDO and thanked everyone for the commitment that the region has given to Macra. Thank you to everyone who donated cakes and buns as refreshments after the meeting.

We here in Nenagh Macra would like to congratulate and thank Amy O’Donovan for being a great ambassador for our club in Athboy for the Blue Jean Country Queen Festival. Amy enjoyed a fantastic weekend, having a busy schedule from start to finish. Amy took part in interviews, judged children’s art competitions, entertained supporters in the annual fancy dress football and modelling competition and enjoyed the Gala banquet meal in the Darney Lodge Hotel. We would like to congratulate the winning lady from Louth, and the runners up from Limerick and Carberry Cork.
Many of our members were elected onto the North Tipperary Executive at last week’s AGM. Best of luck to the new committee.
