Irish Daily Star Camogie League Division 1

Tipperary 2-12      Dublin 1-06

Tipperary welcomed Dublin down to the camogie grounds the Ragg last Sunday for the 5th round of the league on a very wet and windy Easter Sunday.

While most people might of been celebrating the Easter Rising , the Tipp girls were orchestrating a Rising of their own and came away from the camogie grounds with a vital win.

Dublin drew first blood on the day with a fine score 2 minutes in & followed that up 7 minutes later with another point and it took Tipp 11 minutes before registering their 1st score with a point from play from corner forward Sarah Fryday followed by a free from Jenny Grace and Dublin added 2 more points before the in form Jenny Grace added 1-01 to her increasing tally in the space of 3 minutes. Dublin responded with a free of their own in the 25th minute but Jenny Grace had the last say of the 1st half with another fine free leaving the score at half time Tipp 1-05  Dublin 0-05.

Tipperary got the next 4 scores of the 2nd half with points from Shauna Quirke & Jenny Grace before a mix up in the Tipp goal mouth let Dublin in for a fortuitous goal but Tipp’s  responce was instant with points from Mairead Teehan {who worked tirelessly all day} and Jenny Grace again been impressive from the placed balls.

Dublin’s last score came in the 22nd minute and Tipp finished the game with a goal from subsitude Roisin Howard and Jenny Grace getting the last score of the game with another fine free to give the premier girls a comprehensive win over Dublin.

A fantastic win girls very well done , everything seems to be coming together at the right time it might of been a slow start to the league but no dought the girls are looking impressive at the moment, the backs are working tirelessly and midfield and forwards are finding each other and getting some fine scores and confidence will be high going into the semi final.
