Second Times The Charm For Voice Of Ireland’s Laura O’Connor?

After the sixth blind auditions of the Voice of Ireland, favourite to win Pauric O’Meara’s position at the head of the betting is beginning to seem in jeopardy.

Laura O’Connor from Finglas was no stranger to the Voice of Ireland blind auditions, having made it to the live shows under Team Kian last year. This year Laura chose to change tactics and went with Team Rachel, snubbing her old mentor Kian, and it looks like she made the right decision as she now rivals favourite Pauric O’Meara at 6/1.

Tipperary native Jessica Brett also joined Team Rachel, but at the much larger price of 22/1 to win.

Representing Belfast is Georgina Richmond who got a clean sweep after all four coaches turned for her and is most certainly a threat to the title at odds of 7/1.

Monaghan man Michael Lawson joined Team Bressie after impressing all four coaches with his performance of John Legend’s All Of Me and can be backed at 12/1 to win. Topping off a successful blind audition for Team Bressie was Patrick Loewen from Canada, who is 33/1 to go all the way.

Kian Egan claimed two new additions to his team, Darragh Lee from Cork and Swords’ Cathy Moore. Darragh is the stronger of the two at 16/1 with Cathy priced at 33/1.

Hannah Ferguson from Derry was Una’s only new recruit and she is 25/1 to win it for the Oak Leaf County.

Aoife Heffron, PR Executive for BoyleSports commented “The sixth blind auditions saw the biggest shake up in the betting with two key hopefuls standing out from the rest and leaving current favourite Pauric O’Meara sweating under the collar.”

She added “Laura O’Connor is back after bowing out during the live shows last year, but it could be her comeback year at 6/1 to win. Georgina Richmond is also threatening Pauric’s stance at the head of the betting, which could lead to some behind the scene tensions as they are both on Team Bressie.”
