Irish Cancer Society ‘Pink Partners’ are fighting breast cancer as part of Paint it Pink 2015

Some of Ireland’s leading businesses all over the country are painting it pink as the Irish Cancer Society launch this year’s official ‘Pink Partners’, highlighting companies that are joining forces to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Society this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Companies joining the fight against one of the most common cancers include Ballyfree Eggs, Barry’s Tea, Boots Ireland, Centra, the Chanelle Group, Cloud 10 Beauty, Dairygold Co-Op, Digiweb, ghd, GAA Jewellery,Kiernan Milling, Prestigious Textiles Ireland / SLX, Tropical Popical and the Zip Yard.

Irish Cancer Society ‘Pink Partners’ are fighting breast cancer as part of Paint it Pink 2015All the money donated by this year’s generous ‘Pink Partners’ will go to the Irish Cancer Society’s work against breast cancer – funding research, advocacy and free, nationwide services for those affected by breast cancer all over Ireland. Receiving less than 5% of income from government funding, the Irish Cancer Society rely on public support and the backing of organisations like our ‘Pink Partners’ to fund vital services. The 2015 corporate ‘Pink Partners’ will all be doing something different, from wrapping silage bales pink to offering a special paint it pink manicure!

Our ‘Pink Partners’ include;

Ballyfree Free Range Eggs will be donating funds from the sale of their special pink packaged free range eggs, available from leading Irish retailers including Centra, Dunnes Stores and Tesco. For every special pink pack sold throughout the month of October, 5c will be donated to the Society.


Barry’s Tea will be donating 10c from special pink packs of Barry’s Tea Gold Blend available at a special promotional price of €2. The packs can be purchased in Centra stores nationwide.


Boots Ireland –Boots Ireland are supporting breast cancer awareness month by stocking Irish Cancer Society pink ribbons & pins and holding ‘Pink’ days in stores during October. Boots customers can purchase their pink pins and ribbons as well as avail of breast cancer awareness advice and literature.


Centra will be selling a limited edition Justinas Alisauskas designed cat-dog tote shopping bag for just €3. They will also be selling their pink high-vis vest, pink roses flower gift boxes and a special pink potted plant. In addition, over 200 Centra stores will host a walk in their local community to help raise much needed funds for those affected by breast cancer.   Their ‘Walk the World’ initiative aims to get thousands of people to collectively walk 40,075km, the circumference of the earth, on Saturday 17th October. TV presenter Kathryn Thomas is supporting the campaign this year.


The Chanelle Group is selling a special Tribex 10% ‘Pink’ Promotion pack with €5 donated to the Society for every pack sold to Irish farmers, Co-ops, Merchants and Veterinary Surgeons throughout Ireland.

Dairygold Co-Op sold Pink silage wraps throughout their store locations and through their online shopcoopsuperstores.ie The pink bales were in massive demand during silage season and the wraps sold out twice. Pink wrapped bales can be seen in fields around the country and a percentage of the proceeds are being donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
Telecommunications Company, Digiweb, is donating €20 per new subscriber to their home fibre broadband package throughout the month of October


GAA jewellery have a limited edition pink friendship bracelet and a pink GAA jersey charm which will be available throughout October in leading jewellers in Ireland & online at www.gaajewellery.com with 10% of all sales donated to the Society.


Hair care product manufacturer ghd are on board again this year and have the widest selection of pink products ever which includes their ghd platinum hair straightener (€10 donation to the Society), ghd air hair dryer (€10 donation), the paddle brush (€2 donation) and clips (€1 donation) Items will be sold in salons nationwide, premium retail outlets and on ghdhair.com/ie.


Animal feed company Kiernan Milling are donating €1 from the sale of their 25kg bag of Buffalo Beef Nuts sold between now and the end of October.


Prestigious Textiles Ireland/SLX continue their support of the Society with a 1% donation by their retail partners which the Company then matches euro for euro. In addition Prestigious Textiles Ireland/SLX are reaching out to their top customers asking them to ‘go pink’ by holding pink events in store and carrying pink merchandise.

Tropical Popical nail bar are Painting it Pink for the month of October with special Tropical Paint it Pink postcards on sale for €2, which will be stamped and sent for customers once they’ve added their message! Also, they have developed a special ‘Paint it Pink’ mani, with €1 donated to the Irish Cancer Society for each booking.

The Zip Yard, Ireland’s leading clothing and alterations boutique, is supporting the Irish Cancer Society this October and turning pink as they raise funds through pink bake sales, pink coffee mornings, pink sponsored walks and runs as well as offering customers of the Irish Cancer Society charity shops a special discount on items purchased, that they would like remodelled. This year they will again be generously donating 50% of sales on Friday 30th October to the Society.

Most recent figures from the National Cancer Registry of Ireland show that over 2,800 people arediagnosed with breast cancer in Ireland every year. We are committed to providing vital, free services to breast cancer patients and their families to support them during their cancer journey. We are also funding breast cancer research to find better ways of diagnosing and treating breast cancer which in turn will improve the outcomes of breast cancer patients.
