Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.

A big congratulations to Killian Martin who has been selected to represent his school, Scoil Aonghusa, Cashel & Munster at the 2014 Special Olympics Ireland Games in UL next June. Having done so well in his athletics during the Summer, Killian was selected from a group of 5000 athletes for a coveted place on the Munster team. He will attend special training sessions in UL with the Munster team & we look forward to giving him every assistance as he prepares for his big competition next June. Well done also to his Mum & Dad, Josephine & Jim & his sisters Ceri & Rachel for making him the great athlete & special person that he is today.


The Adamstown A.C. Open Cross Country Meet took place on Sunday 15th September in Adamstown, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.  Club athlete, Joe Egan did very well winning a silver medal in the Boys U/9 500m.


Club Training

Club Training for the forthcoming Cross Country season takes place every Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8pm in the Middlepiece. New athletes & help always welcome. Coolcroo A.C Reunion Gathering:

Preparations are now well in hand for the reunion and gathering of the Coolcroo A.C (1958/1971) in Bannon’s Lounge, Two-Mile-Borris on Saturday 12th October next at 9.00 p.m. Over 100 athletes of that period will be honoured and a number of those living overseas have intimated their intention to travel. Scrolls will be presented to all, with refreshments available. It is hoped to have some memorabilia   from the period on display. The RSVP for the occasion is Wednesday 2nd October and replies would be appreciated by that date.The next meeting of the organising committee will be held in Two-Mile-Borris hall on Tuesday night 24th September at 9.00 p.m. All organising committee  members are asked to attend as the final count down starts. The event is a Moycarkey-Coolcroo A.C., promotion.

Sun 3rd November – County Juvenile Relays & Masters Cross Country Championships in Thurles Crokes Complex.

Sun 10th November – Munster Juvenile Uneven Age & Intermediate Cross Country Championships in Castlelyons, Co. Cork.

Sun 17th November – National Juvenile Even Age & Novice Cross Country Championships. Venue tbc.

Date tbc – County Juvenile “B” & Novice “B” Cross Country Championships in the Turnpike, Two Mile Borris at 12 noon.

Tipp XC Development Squad Sessions
The Tipperary Development Cross Country Squad Session in Thurles Crokes Complex continues every Saturday morning from 10.30am to 11.30am for athletes aged U/10 upwards intending to compete at the Munster Championships. Any Club athletes who are interested should go along & get some extra coaching.


Open Cross Country Meets

Ballon Rathoe A.C. are also holding an Open Juvenile Cross Country Day on Saturday 21st September in Ballykealy Manor Hotel, Ballon, Co. Carlow. Winter Coaching Series

First session of the Winter Coaching Series will commence on Saturday 21st September in Cork I.T., Bishopstown, Co. Cork from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Sessions are for athletes aged 12 to 99 years & athletes, coaches & parents from all corners of Ireland are welcome. Athletes aged Under 9 to Under 12 will not be eligible for this series but it is hoped that they could be accommodated separately in a less technical environment at a later stage. There will be registration at 10am on the day but we would rather if On-Line Registration was used so that the Lead Coaches can see how many will be in their groups & organise their sessions accordingly.

It is intended to run 4 sessions in this series, the 2nd & 3rd dates are Saturday October 5th & 19th with a 4th date to be added as we go along. Cost for the 4 sessions is 30 euro per athlete with concessions for family groups. New Schools Combined Events Dates
The Munster Schools Combined Events Championships will now take place on Wednesday 16th October at 11am in Nenagh Indoor Stadium & the All Ireland Schools Combined Events Championships will take place on Saturday 16th November at 10am in AIT Arena, Athlone. Club athlete, Daniel Ryan won the Junior Boys Munster & All-Ireland Combined Events title last year & went on the represent Ireland at the SIAB Schools International in Glasglow last December where he finished 6th overall & best of the Irish.
